African Evangelism

RAIN reaches African immigrants from the approximately 63 nations of the African continent. First, we educate churches in North America to the fact that there are more than 3 million African immigrants in North America. This especially relevant because these populations are not only concentrated in large cities near the coast, but all of North America, especially cities with colleges or universities. We assist you in reaching immigrants and assimilating them into the church.

Purpose

RAIN exists to encourage a multicultural church environment that offers African Immigrants a sense of belonging, identity, identification, and inclusive spiritual experience.
The fulfillment of RAIN’s purpose will be measured by:

1. Changes in cultural trends among churches: This metric will be determined by the percentage of UPCI African Immigrant ministers and leaders associated with RAIN.
2. Clarity of RAIN’s vision: Measured by the percentage increase in participation in RAIN rallies and conventions, UPCI pastors’ participation in RAIN campaigns, and missionaries to Africa collaborating with RAIN to reconnect recent immigrants to UPCI churches upon arrival.
3. Awareness of RAIN campaign: Based on the percentage of first recall of RAIN/ African Immigrant Evangelism among the church members.
4. The ease of access and friendliness of RAIN communication platforms: Measured by the percentage increase of: platform users, UPCI African immigrants reconnected to UPCI churches on arrival in North America.

The Position of a Regional Director

The strategic objective of a Regional Director is to bring a heighten awareness of RAIN and the UPCI African Immigrant Evangelism campaign to every district and local church in the region, to attract the participation and inclusion of African Immigrants; and to drive traffic to UPCI churches, conferences, rallies, and programs.

The responsibilities of the Regional Director include but are not limited to the following:

1. To identify within each region the African Immigrants UPCI pastors, license ministers, and potential ministers.
2. To identify African immigrant churches and pastors who are no longer with the UPCI and work toward reconnecting them with the organization.
3. Identify potential district coordinators in each district in the region and submit names and recommendations to the Director of UPCI African Immigrant Evangelism for consideration by the MCM and UPCI executive board. The approval of such recommendation should proceed the notification and appointment of the district coordinator.
4. To encourage potential ministers to seek licensure with UPCI organization.
5. To collaborate with MCM Regional director in the region for information sharing.
6. To organize regional rallies ones or twice a year to promote RAIN objectives, unity, and revival in the region.
7. To assist the Director of African Immigrant Evangelism in developing and providing resources to North American pastors to assist in the work of evangelism.
8. To be a feedback mechanism for the ministry to connect with the people for resource development and direct targeting of the needs.
